Media & Marketing Administrator Job Description:

Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, located in Tucson, Arizona, was founded on December 1, 1976. Our Vision: “A Local Church with a Global Reach.” We are a church where everyone is welcome and one of Tucson’s largest predominantly Black congregations. Over the past 49 years, Rising Star has been characterized by growing membership and expanding ministries. Currently, Rising Star has over 1,000 members and 50 ministries serve its members and the community.

 

Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a Media, Marketing, and eCampus Administrator (MMA). Full-time. $55K a year, based on education and experience.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The Media Marketing Administrator (MMA) position supports Rising Star’s mission by developing and maintaining a consistent and engaging visual presence across all media, marketing, and eCampus activities. The role ensures that Rising Star presents a clear, cohesive, and professional image across all ministries and in every external setting where the church is represented.

This position is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and managing the church’s external media presence, including radio, television, pre-recorded and remote services, workshops, and special events, while supporting communication efforts that extend the ministry’s message to both local and global audiences.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

· Lead the design, maintenance, and ongoing updates of the church website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Constant Contact, Vimeo) and manage ministry email accounts through the cPanel portal.

· Develop, implement, and optimize multimedia strategies that support Rising Star’s mission of growing digitally as “A Local Church with a Global Reach.” This includes integrating SMS messaging, graphics, campaigns, audio, and video into cohesive digital presentations.

· Lead the effective use of technology to enhance ministry outreach, including emerging tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), while ensuring digital data integrity, accessibility, and reliability.

· Provide direction and task coordination for the eCampus Administrator Assistant (eCAA).

· Manage the eCampus budget, including oversight of outsourced projects and freelancers when needed.

· Contribute ideas and implement strategies to continually improve the effectiveness of Rising Star’s eCampus marketing and digital outreach to both believers and non-believers.

· Lead the development and implementation of the Rising Star brand identity, working collaboratively with all ministries to ensure consistent adoption and representation across all communications and media.

· Create visual and digital content for a variety of projects, including social media posts, promotional campaigns, and special ministry events.

· Provide leadership and oversight for all church media platforms to ensure integrity, reliability, and consistency in messaging and presentation.

· Support ministry leaders in developing promotional materials, including printed materials, video clips, interviews, A/V presentations, flyers, posters, website banners, and press releases.

· Maintain and update the Leadership Board located in the church foyer.

· Collaborate with the Video and Audio Ministry in the coordination and use of church technology equipment, including video and audio systems.

· Assist in coordinating volunteers for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening sound checks with the Music & Worship Arts Ministry, as needed.

· Assist the Pastor with sermon PowerPoint preparation and coordinate weekly production meetings.

· Manage the Rising Star event checklist process for staff and ministry coordination.

· Prepare presentation slides for Church Council meetings, business meetings, and leadership gatherings.

· Implement and maintain the church mobile app, ensuring proper integration with the church database system and the finance team's giving records.

· Ensure quality control by verifying the accuracy and completeness of all data and materials before public release.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Office Manager.

· Demonstrates strong computer proficiency and technical knowledge to evaluate technology needs and recommend appropriate solutions to the Office Manager or Business Administrator regarding the repair, upgrade, or replacement of hardware and software.

 

SKILLS AND GIFTS:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

· Demonstrates working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere), as well as HTML and basic website design.

· Understands office operations, organization, and administrative processes.

· Familiar with office equipment and standard office procedures.

· Possesses a basic understanding of church governance and organizational structure.

· Knowledgeable in preparing professional correspondence, forms, reports, and related documents.

· Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.

· Understands principles and procedures for effective record-keeping and document management.

· Exhibits strong command of English, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and Associated Press (AP) writing style.

· Able to perform responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.

· Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

· Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, church staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, church members, and the public.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, media, or a related field.

· Experience in radio, television, corporate, or nonprofit environments is preferred
