Rev. Miriam Bacon
Rev. Miriam Bacon earned a B.A. in Psychology from Ottawa University and her Master of Divinity with a Concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Fuller Theological Seminary.
  As a member of First Institutional Baptist Church, Miriam served in the Support Group Ministry, where she co-facilitated Bible study classes which focused on grief, loss and life controlling issues.  Miriam has also volunteered at New Song Center for Grieving Children as a co-facilitator of grief support groups for adults and children.  As a hospital Chaplain Intern and Resident, Miriam counseled patients, families and staff as they experienced physical, spiritual and emotional pain and trauma.
  Currently Miriam is the Advent Care Manager at Comin’ Home by CODAC.  As a Care Manager, Miriam assists clients who are experiencing homelessness in finding housing and counsels them as they maneuver their way from homelessness to self-sufficiency by setting goals and objectives as well as creating budget and savings plans.

Rev. Calvin G. Coker
  Pastor Coker has a BA in General Studies, BS in Computer Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry with concentrations in Theology and Pastoral Counseling. He has provided counseling support to many different churches to include pastoral counseling as Pastor of the House of the Lord in Tucson in the past.
  He is certified by the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) in Pastoral Counseling and also provides counseling services to Newlife Counseling which is associated with Arizona Baptist Children Services. Pastor Coker has great passion bring healing to God’s people through the Word of God where Christ is the Center and the Holy Spirit is the Great Counselor.

Minister Monique Harris
  My name is Monique Y. Harris, I am a woman of God, wife, mother, Airman, minister, teacher, and counselor. I received my Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University in May 2012. I have been in ministry for 8 years.
  I became a Pastoral Counselor so that I could provide hurting Christians with godly counsel. I want to help them see life from a Christian perspective. I want to empower them through the word of God to not be bound by the situations and circumstances of this life.

Dr. Veda Kowalski
  Dr. Veda Kowalski has been a member of Rising Star Baptist Church since the early 2000's.  She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology from Loyola Marymount University, a Master’s degree in counseling psychology from California State University, San Bernardino and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from The University of Arizona.
  She has over 25 years of experience in working on college campuses focusing on conflict management, campus violence, and student advocacy. She is humbled and thankful that the Lord has gifted her with the calling and the ability to help others in crisis.
