Mission:

  • The Alpha and Omega Ministry is a faith-based recovery meeting for those in recovery or seeking recovery from any type of addition in a confidential setting. We use biblical teachings to promote the positive impact of addiction recovery.
  • Alpha and Omega meets every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Love room

Purpose:

  • The purpose of the Alpha and Omega Ministry is to fellowship and celebrate god's healing power in our lives through a faith-based, Christ-centered, 12-step program. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving life's problems.
  • By working through this Christ-centered, 12-step program and applying the biblical principles found in the Bible, we being to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with god and others.
  • As we progress through the steps, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

The 12 Steps and Related Scripture

Step One: We admit we are powerless over our problems - that our lives have become unmanageable. "I know that nothing good lives in me… I want to do what is right, but I can't" (Romans 7:18).

Step Two: We have come to believe that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity. "God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him" (Philippians 2:13).

Step Three: We made a decision to turn our wills and our lives over to the care of God. "Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and Holy sacrifice - the kind He will find acceptable" (Romans 12:1).

Step Four: We have taken a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. "Let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord" (Lamentations 3:40).

Step Five: We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to one another the exact nature of our wrongs. "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed" (James 5:16).

Step Six: We are entirely ready to have God remove all defects of character. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will life you up in honor" (James 4:10).

Step Seven: Humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings. "If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all wickedness" (1 John 1:9)

Step Eight: Make a list of all persons we have harmed and are willing to make amends with all. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Luke 6:31).

Step Nine: Make direct amends with people wherever possible, except when to do so will injure them or others. "If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar and… someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. God and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God" (Matthew 5:23-24).

Step Ten: Continue to take personal inventory and when we are wrong, promptly admit it. "If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall" (1 Corinthians 10:12).

Step Eleven: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. "Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart" (Colossians 4:2).

Step Twelve: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we are carrying this message to others, and practicing these principles in all our lives. "Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself" (Galatians 6:1).
