Rising Star Youth Department

This is a Ministry for the youth that seeks to provide opportunities for growth and fun-filled activities in a Christian atmosphere. In addition to the Youth Department, both the Men's and Women's Departments include activiteis for the youth.

 Youth Ministries

 The "Cross Xperience" is the Wednesday night experience for the youth of Rising Star. Classes are broken down into different age groups and include "Noah's Ark" for the little ones, S.W.A.T. Junior for Middle School students and S.W.A.T. for High School students. Bible study classes are held each Wednesday night. For more information on the "Cross Xperience" contact the Youth Minister, Elder Alice Shumate, or the Youth Director, Sister Diedra Jones.

Honor 2 Jesus" is the boys step team here at Rising Star. H2J is broken up into three age groups, high school, middle, and little ones. H2J ministers during special events at Rising Star and at community events like the MLK and Juneteenth celebrations. For more information on H2J contact Deacon Jon Williams.

Jubilant Praise is the youth choir here at Rising Star. All young people between the ages of 3 and 21 are invited to sing. Jubilant Praise is broken up into two age groups; the older ones, middle school and up, and the younger ones, middle school and down. Jubilant Praise rehearses the three Saturdays before the second Sunday of each month. For more information on Jubilant Praise contact Tracy Lewis or the Minister of Music, Lamonte Arthur.

The Praise Dance ministry at Rising Star is broken up into several age groups, including the children and teens. The "Angels of Praise" group is for the younger girls and "Divine Praise" is the high school girls. In addition, there are praise dance groups for the young adults, adults and more "seasoned saint." The Praise Dancers minister during speical events at Rising Star and at community events like MLK and Juneteenth celebrations. For more information on the Praise Dance Ministry contact Diedra Jones.

The Youth Ushers work in conjunction with the Ushers Ministry here at Rising Star. Young people are encouraged to come out and serve in the church. Youth Ushers also participate in community events and occassionally serve during SDA and Paradise State events.
